PRESS RELEASE - For Immediate Release.

Saint Louis — Tuesday, June 25, 2019 — Fabricatorz Foundation announces O.N.G.3, the next installation of the O.N.G. (ONLY NEXT GENERATION) series, as a closing celebration of Counterpublic, a triennial hosted by The Luminary. O.N.G.3 is set for Saturday, July 13, 2019 at the venue Treffpunkt + Fellowship in St. Louis, Missouri. The event, which is free and open to the public, spans two-stories and features a mix of visual art and musical performances from Indiana-native He Valencia, Philadelphia-based BEARCAT, St. Louis resident RA Child, Venezuelan artist Dwight Portocarrero, St. Louis-based artist collective Biota, and with spatial and visual direction from St. Louis-based artist and curator, Katherine Simóne Reynolds. For Reynolds, the third installment of O.N.G. is primarily focused on otherness and “non-ness” as a point of departure in order to get into the depths of “identity.” Exploring the cavernous pockets of self and “attempting to leave behind the surface approach of identity politics.” On the main floor of the venue will feature a tranquil zone where current Counterpublic artist Cauleen Smith’s Sky Will Learn Sky is on display. Below ground, the basement exposes the underground with three experimental club sets.

“Counterpublic featured 39 national and international artists spanning 3 months in 20+ storefronts on Cherokee. There were many newly commissioned installations, performances, and talks and the project has gained international attention for its unique approach to art on a neighborhood level,” says James McAnally, co-founder of The Luminary. “O.N.G.3 closes out the first Counterpublic by bringing together participating artists along with choice selected experimental space creators O.N.G., to celebrate Counterpublic and provide context to consider what’s next.”

O.N.G.3 starts at 9:00 PM on Saturday, July 13 Information can be accessed at https://ong.fabricatorz.org/iii. The event is free but requires rsvp.

“The O.N.G. series brings artists and musicians together to strengthen connections between the individuals leading various electronic music and dance scenes across the globe,” says Tyler Mathews, board member of Fabricatorz Foundation, which supports the O.N.G. series.

O.N.G. launched in 2018 with an experiential party in the Cortex district featuring progressive sounds from Mexico City collective NAAFI, Eric Donte, deth_bb, Saylor, Maxwell Foley and Matt Amato, with the experience produced by Hayden Molinarolo. The art and music series is a collaboration between Red Bull and Fabricatorz Foundation to highlight emerging artists and musicians. O.N.G.2 took place on April 27, 2019 with its uniquely midwestern take on the “art happening”, which re-imagined a concert and gallery experience through an accessible club environment.

Counterpublic is a triennial public art exhibition scaled to a neighborhood. Counterpublic 2019 will bring groundbreaking contemporary art to the barbershops, bakeries, parks, and taquerias that anchor Cherokee Street and the surrounding neighborhoods of South St. Louis and act as gathering spaces for the many communities living in the area.

Donations are being accepted to continue support of local St. Louis artist community.
